Picnics in the Parking Lot: A Summer of Food, Friendship, and Community

Picnics in the Parking Lot is back—and we couldn’t be more excited! This weekly event is all about good food, fun for kids, and creating a space where families can feel seen, supported, and connected. 

Hosted in partnership by Whitewater Crossing Christian Church, The Life Center, and The Community Pantry at Whitewater, Picnics in the Parking Lot is open to every family in the community. 

Whether you're stopping by for a meal, for your kids to meet new friends, or to simply be part of something positive—there’s a place for you here.

Each week is a chance to experience something joyful. Smiles, laughter, full bellies, and new friendships—it all happens right here in the parking lot.

This program wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteers and partners who give their time and energy. When you support Picnics in the Parking Lot, you’re doing more than handing out food—you’re helping local families feel full, valued, and cared for.

That’s why the Life Center’s annual Hope Banquet isn’t just another dinner. It’s a chance to be part of something bigger, to ignite hope where it’s needed most. This incredible evening starts at 6 p.m. with an open house and mouthwatering appetizers from Kreimer’s Bier Haus (because all good things start with food).
