The Lights Came Back On—But That Wasn’t the Only Thing That Changed

The Lights Came Back On—But That Wasn’t the Only Thing That Changed

Here’s how love, action, and Solve7 helped a mom and her family begin again.

She was holding it together—barely.

A single mom of three, she came to the Life Center because her power had been shut off. No heat. No lights. No fridge. There was no safe place for her kids to sleep.

She’d already tried everything—payment plans, friends, churches. But when she walked through our doors, what she needed was hope.

Thanks to the compassionate and generous donors of the Solve7 movement, we were able to help her get her utilities restored within 48 hours. Her voice cracked when we broke the news to her. “I just wanted to feel like a good mom again,” she said through tears. “Now I can.”

That’s the power of Solve7.

At the Life Center, our mission is simple but profound: empower anyone struggling with what they need to grow. That means we don’t just offer help—we walk alongside people as they take steps toward a stronger future.

Solve7 is how we live that out.

Jesus named seven specific needs that still cry out to be met:

  • Find the Forgotten – See the people the world overlooks.
  • Feed the Hungry – Make sure no family goes to bed without dinner.
  • Clothe the Poor – Offer dignity with every item.
  • House the Homeless – Create places where people feel safe and valued.
  • Educate the Uneducated – Share tools that unlock potential.
  • Release the Captive – Help people escape what holds them back—debt, addiction, abuse.
  • Heal the Sick – Walk with those in pain, whether physical or emotional.

That mom didn’t just get her lights turned back on. She got something far more valuable: the confidence that she wasn’t alone anymore.

When we meet basic needs, guide people toward a healthier life, and walk alongside them as they grow, we don’t just restore power; we also empower them. We restore hope.

That’s our mission. That’s Solve7.

And you can be part of it.

Maybe it’s giving a little. Maybe it’s volunteering. Maybe it’s asking, “What do I already have that someone else might need?” Like that single mom, we don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to take the first step forward.

Step up and Solve7 with us. Because when we show up for others, something amazing happens: we grow, too.
