Hero Family Night: A Night of Growth, Goals, and Good Chili
Hero Family Night: A Night of Growth, Goals, and Good Chili
Last week, we gathered for a night filled with laughter, warmth, and delicious chili. (Big thanks to Claudia for ensuring no one went home hungry!) Our Family Night was more than just a meal—it was a chance to dream, reflect, and take steps toward the future.
One of the highlights was creating vision boards. There’s something powerful about putting your dreams on paper and surrounding them with images and words that remind you of your goals. The room buzzed with hope as we cut, pasted, and shared. We weren’t just making vision boards—we were making commitments to ourselves and to each other.
Gary, a dad of twin teenagers, beamed as he worked on his board. "I just got a job at Meijer!" he announced. The room erupted in applause. A new job means stability. It means opportunity. It means hope. And that’s precisely what these nights are about—encouraging one another, celebrating every win, and taking steps toward the life we’re building.
Here are just a few of the goals that emerged from our time together:
- Spend more time with my family
- Draw closer to God
- Exercise to make my heart stronger
- Swim more with my kids (because cannonballs never get old)
Growth happens in community. And on nights like these, over bowls of chili and shared dreams, we see just how powerful that can be.
I would love to hear what one goal you’re working toward is. Drop a comment or send a message to Jereca@hopeisforeveryone.org!
