Celebrating Our Newest Hero on a Mission: Rachel At the Life Center, we believe every person has a story worth telling—and that story can turn from struggle to strength when someone chooses to step into their role as a hero. Today, we celebrate Rachel, our newest Hero on a Mission graduate, whose story reminds us that hope can grow even in weary places. Rachel came into the program tired and discouraged. For over two years, she worked in a job that drained her joy, often carrying anger she didn’t even realize was there. Life left little time for rest, fun, or friendship. Yet even in her weariness, Rachel chose to show up, take the next step, and begin rewriting her story. Through Hero on a Mission, she began to see her challenges differently. She problem-solved her way to lowering her energy bills, bravely left a second job that left her exhausted, and found flexible work driving for Amazon—something she can even share with her daughter, Allison.  Volunteer and Be Part of the Mission At the Life Center, our mission is to walk with people through life’s challenges, offering hope, tools, and relationships that help them grow into the lives God intended. None of that happens without volunteers. Some volunteer roles are high-impact and call for your very best—like serving as a guide or mentor. Guides walk alongside our guests in the Hero program, encouraging them, listening, and helping them take steps toward lasting change. These roles require passion, empathy, dependability, and a heart that is faithful to the mission. Other roles are simpler, with less time commitment, yet they are just as important. From event support to hospitality, these tasks help create the welcoming environment that makes growth possible.
