Join the Mission to Change Lives

Image
Join the Mission to Change Lives At the Life Center, we don’t just meet people— we meet heroes . Every day, men, women, and families walk through our doors, each with a story of resilience, determination, and  hope for a better future . Like  every great hero, they are fighting for something : stability, security, and the chance to rewrite their story . Some dream of paying their bills on time , working hard , and earning a steady income . Others hope for a second job , more hours , or the ability to finally pay off their home or car . But beyond financial goals, their dreams reveal something even deeper—a longing to be good, to do good, and to give back . One guest shared, "I hope I can learn to deal with my financial problems and adjustments so I can return to focusing on others ." Even during their own struggles, they think about how to serve . That’s the heart of a hero. And here’s the truth: These dreams are within reach . When a community comes together—when we ch...

A Hero’s Journey: Amanda's Transformation Every hero’s journey begins with a challenge . For Amanda, that challenge was a mountain of obstacles: job searching, financial strain, and impending housing uncertainty . She joined the Hero on a Mission program searching for hope . What she found was transformation. Each session helped Amanda grow in confidence, faith, and joy . She arrived eager to discuss each session and shared how the program helped her feel happier and stronger . Encouraged by the Guides, she embraced each lesson, showing up early and fully engaged. Her 16-year-old daughter also attended , quietly taking in the discussions, further deepening Amanda’s commitment to putting what she learned into practice. Halfway through the program, Amanda landed a job as a caretaker for disabled men in a nursing home, a breakthrough moment that reinforced her resilience. With a roadmap for success, she also set goals to find additional work and strengthen her family’s faith foundat...

Diapers & Dinner: How You Can Help Families in Need

Image
Diapers & Dinner: How You Can Help Families in Need At the Life Center, no parent should choose between buying diapers and putting food on the table . That’s why, in partnership with the Community Pantry, we provide diapers to families shopping in the pantry weekly. But here’s the thing: those diapers don’t magically appear (if only!). Generous folks like you donate them. We go through all sizes, but sizes 5 and 6 practically vanish before our eyes . If you can, consider donating a box to keep little ones dry and parents less stressed . While we’re on the topic of lending a hand, the Community Pantry could also use some extra help ! If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare, we’d love to have you join us on Thursday evenings . Visit this volunteer page for more information. Cindy Hoh leads our volunteer crew and would be thrilled to answer any questions. Contact her at (513) 265-3573 for more details. This simple act of kindness—whether through diapers or your time—reminds strugg...
